About Us
In the “Epic of Gilgamesh,” the oldest extant work of literature, Gilgamesh, the King of Uruk, went on a quest to find a plant that bestows immortality.
Of course, the quest fails, but Gilgamesh’s response is of great interest; he then realizes that to pine for immortality is pointless and a much better goal is to live the best life while it lasts.
Thus, the epic of Gilgamesh informs the ethics of Gilga-Med: not necessarily to increase lifespan per se, but to allow the best life possible, free from the degenerative and painful diseases associated with aging.
